Kristine Gutierrez

Kristine - known as KG - is partner and General Manager of KABIN. Born and raised in Norway, KG is excited to bring notes of Norwegian nostalgia and memories of her childhood to the NYC beverage scene. She initially moved to NYC in 2013 to write for the infamous feminist blogging site, Jezebel, and like many, only stumbled into restaurants temporarily as a host at Aquavit. What followed was six years as the Director of Magic and Maître d’ of The NoMad NY and several management positions in guest relations and events. During the pandemic, she returned to Oslo to work for Norway’s only three Michelin-starred restaurant, Maaemo.

After management stints at Moby’s in the Hamptons and Zou Zou’s, she moved into the beverage world as General Manager of Mister Paradise. At Paradise, she applied her passion for guest relations to the team and established her undeniable management style and brand as the caring, culture-driven operator who always puts the team first. During her tenure, KG was invited to be a guest bartender at international locations such as  Svanen in Oslo, Kink at Berlin, and was one of nine bartenders to represent her nation (USA) at Cambridge Public House’s Global Series.

Kristine is home wherever she finds herself and is thrilled to share a piece of Norway to New Yorkers.
